Shot in the Rostov-on-Don region of Russia, his series “The Don Steppe'', shows pastoral scenes of daily life in the region, focusing particularly on the Senshin farm.
In geography terms, a steppe is an ecoregion characterized by grassland plains, largely without trees except near rivers and lakes. The Eurasian Steppe stretches across Russia, and is characterized by cold winters and hot summers, often fostering challenging circumstances for generating livelihoods.
However, as portrayed by Maslennikov’s images of individuals in a village in the Oblivskaya district, people who live in the Don Steppe are hard-working, resilient, and community-minded.
Thank you and congratulations @maslennikovmisha
